Autumn Fenmar

Autumn grew up with a love for animals and a curiosity for animal behavior. Through her experiences training her own dogs and discovering the world of dog sports, it became apparent that successful dog training is much more than teaching a set of behaviors. It’s about strengthening the relationship with your dog through building trust, listening to how they communicate, and observing their emotional state. After earning a degree in psychology, exploring dog sport training became a healthy hobby, and she has gained several years of experience training and competing in agility, scent work, and disc with her two rescue dogs, Zoe and Breeze. In addition, having a dog with environmental sensitivities taught her valuable skills in managing reactivity and reading dog body language.  She is an active competitor in agility and disc, but scent work is her primary sport.  She is currently training and competing with two Australian Koolies, Meru and Denali.

Autumn enjoys sharing her passion for dog sports with others and has been teaching students since 2012.  She prefers positive training methods and has a special interest in building confidence and motivation in any team.  She is a firm believer in learning from our dogs about how they perceive the world and working with that in training.

Melissa Fenmar

Melissa discovered the world of dog sports with her first dog Nya, a Laborador Retriever.  After earning a CGC with Nya, Melissa was looking for something new to keep her dog active.  She began training in agility in 2009.  Her understanding of dog training principles and her upbeat personality earned her a position teaching agility in 2010.

Looking to experience agility with a variety of dog breeds, Melissa added  Nox, a Cattle Dog mix, to her family in 2012 and Kairos, a Border Collie, in late 2013.  Nox and Kairos pushed Melissa to learn more about how dogs learn, and she used that knowledge to think outside the box when working with both her students and her own dogs.  She strongly believes that dog training should not be the "one size fits all" method found at many training schools.  A dog's unique skills and learning style should be celebrated and accentuated, even in a group class setting.

Melissa is an active competitor in disc, scent work, and agility.  She also has experience helping reactive dogs learn pro-social skills using Behavior Adjustment Training (BAT).
